Facebook To Android Beta-Testers: Please Come Home

HomeCoverFeed2TeaserFacebook is urging its Android beta-testers with Home-supported devices to install the beta version of Android overlay Home on their devices.

A post Friday on the Facebook for Android Beta Testers page read:

Help us test the complete Home experience by installing the beta version of our Home application in addition to the Facebook for Android app. By testing the Home app in beta, you will have access to both the lock screen and the app launcher.

To try the Home app in beta please follow these steps:

  1. Make sure you’re already using the latest Facebook for Android beta version.
  2. Click here to become a Home beta tester.
  3. Download v1.1 of the Home app from the Play Store.

The post went on to point out that installing the beta version of Home was optional, and that Android beta-testers could continue on without adding Home, as well as continuing to use Home as their lock screens without installing the full app.

The list of Home-supported devices is: Samsung Galaxy S IV, Samsung Galaxy S III, Samsung Galaxy Note II, Nexus 4, HTC First, HTC One X, HTC One X+ and HTC One.

Readers: Do you think Home will ever really catch on?
