The game-focused changes to Facebook’s App Center that were brought to AllFacebook’s attention at the end of May by reader Marcelo Ávalos are now official, as the social network announced a redesign of App Center aimed at simplifying discovery of games.
Facebook’s app details pages also have a new look, with high-resolution videos and images, as well as quicker ways to go straight from the pages into game play.
The social network detailed the changes to App Center in a post on its developer blog:
App Center’s new look and navigation are designed to improve game discovery on Facebook. The homepage highlights trending games and personalized suggestions. People can also find specific games through the search bar or by browsing categories.
The app detail pages have been optimized to quickly get people playing new games. They’re fast, displayed in-line, and showcase high-resolution videos and images.
The new App Center gives people a single place where people can manage their games activity. They can see new game requests, as well as adjust the app privacy settings for individual games. The new design will be rolling out to everyone in the coming weeks.
Existing apps listed in the App Center don’t need to upload new creative assets, but we’ve simplified the image requirements for submissions going forward. If your app is not yet listed, you can learn how to submit your app by reading our updated App Center documentation.
