President Barack Obama’s Inauguration Scores A 7.1 Out Of 10 On Facebook’s Talk Meter

Facebook offered more details on how its users interacted with Monday’s inauguration of President Barack Obama, revealing that the event scored a 7.1 out of 10 on its Talk Meter scale.

More details from the social network:

  • Men scored a 7.15, while women posted a 7.05.
  • The top-scoring male groups were: 55-plus (7.76), 45 to 54 (7.68), and 35 to 44 (7.53).
  • All male groups 25 and older scored above a 7.2, while the youngest male group, 13 to 17, came in at a 5.78.
  • The top-scoring female groups were: 55-plus (7.5), 45 to 54 (7.49), and 35 to 44 (7.35).
  • All female groups 25 and older scored over a 7.1, with the youngest female group, 13 to 17, posting a 5.52.

The top 10 states in the U.S. were:

  1. Washington, D.C., 8.51
  2. Maryland, 7.67
  3. Virginia, 7.53
  4. Georgia, 7.31
  5. Delaware, 7.28
  6. Alabama, 7.24
  7. North Carolina, 7.22
  8. Mississippi, 7.21
  9. Louisiana, 7.2

And the top 10 non-U.S. countries, in terms of buzz, were:
