Black Friday And Cyber Monday: Retailers’ Referral Traffic From Facebook, Mall Check-Ins, Fab.com

The huge shopping days of Black Friday and Cyber Monday may be over, but the memories live on, as do the data and statistics, in this case from Facebook and Fab.com.

Facebook said referral traffic to Internet retailers from the social network was up 240 percent compared with the average of the past several Mondays, highlighting the following gains:

  • Harry & David (11,425 percent)
  • 1-800-Flowers (5,477 percent)
  • Finish Line (1,213 percent)
  • Coldwater Creek (1,084 percent)
  • American Girl (695 percent)
  • Dillards (593 percent)
  • Crocs (479 percent)
  • Newegg (478 percent)
  • Loft (474 percent)
  • Eddie Bauer (470 percent)

Going back a few days, the 10 malls in the U.S. with the most Black Friday check-ins were:

  1. Westfield Valley Fair, Santa Clara, Calif.
  2. Bellevue Square, Bellevue, Wash.
  3. Westfield Brandon, Brandon, Fla.
  4. Westfield MainPlace, Santa Ana, Calif.
  5. Westfield Annapolis, Annapolis, Md.
  6. Tanger Outlets Myrtle Beach, Myrtle Beach, S.C.
  7. Mall of America, Bloomington, Minn.
  8. Tanger Outlets Washington, Washington, Pa.
  9. Westfield Hawthorn, Vernon Hills, Ill.
  10. Tippecanoe Mall, Lafayette, Ind.

And Fab.com Founder and CEO Jason Goldberg wrote in a post on his blog, Betashop, that 25 percent of his site’s sales from Black Friday through Cyber Monday originated from social media, and the lion’s share of those came from Facebook:

  • Facebook: 65 percent
  • Pinterest: 20 percent
  • Twitter: 5 percent
  • Coolhunting: 1 percent
  • svvply: 0.5 percent
  • Apartment Therapy: 0.3 percent
  • Reddit: 0.3 percent
  • Betashop: 0.3 percent
