Eight out of the ten largest global advertisers use Buddy Media software to populate their Facebook pages. Spinback claims 20 client companies since launching in October 2010.
- EasyShare, which like its name suggests, enables sharing of products and purchases on Facebook, social plugin that allows consumers to easily share products and purchases via Facebook, Twitter and email.
- EasyTrack, also aptly named, is an analytics dashboard that measures sharing, traffic, conversions and sales.
Spinback claims that its customers realize $2.10 of incremental revenue from each wall post, plus an impressive 10.9 percent conversion rate on Facebook shares — meaning over one in ten lead to a purchase.
The acquisition certainly fits into the larger trend among social media software providers — makers of page creation tools buy analytics providers in order to sell more comprehensive offerings. A similar deal just occurred last week, when Efficient Frontier bought Context Optional.
