Budweiser Taps Facebook, Vice For ‘Made For Music’ Campaign

What do you get when you mix an iconic beer brand, a social network, and a pop-culture-video website? In the case of Budweiser, Facebook, and Vice, you get Made for Music, a YouTube video campaign aimed at showcasing musicians of all levels from around the world while connecting Facebook and YouTube users with Budweiser.

According to Mashable, the Made for Music campaign will highlight both established and up-and-coming artists, and it will feature behind-the-scenes photos and videos. The campaign is made up of six franchises:

  • Made Me: Successful artists will be featured, and the stories behind specific tracks will be detailed.
  • Turning Points: Pivotal moments in artists’ careers will be the focus.
  • Made in a Minute: 60-second summaries of artists’ journeys.
  • Gig Posters: A series of posters highlighting artists’ stories via stylized images and quotes.
  • I’m with the Band: A look at being on the road with the artists.
  • Newsroom: A behind-the-scenes look at Budweiser’s Made in America Festival, Aug. 31 and Sept. 1 in Philadelphia.

Budweiser Global Marketing Director Kathy Sattler told Mashable:

Facebook introduced us to Vice because as a brand, we’re trying to become better storytellers. Facebook’s platform is a really important channel for us to connect globally with our 10 million fans. And Vice is pretty much the leader in high-quality, compelling online video.

Vice Global Marketing Director Jonathan Hunt added:

We’ve crisscrossed the globe to cover the remarkable career stories of today’s most talented artists. The Budweiser Made for Music program is the ideal venue for this video content, giving music fans throughout the world over a captivating glimpse into the lives, creative processes, and turning points of these musicians.

And Facebook Creative Strategist Keenan Pridmore told Mashable:

Budweiser’s Made for Music program will thrive in the Facebook News Feed because it was designed to be high-quality, fun to consume, and meant to be enjoyed with friends, just like the product itself.

Music fans: Will you check out any of the bands featured in Made for Music?
