Canadian Man Drives Cross-Country To Meet Facebook Friends

Greg Mountenay can log on and see his 1,200 Facebook friends anytime he wants. He wants to do more, though. Mountenay is driving across Canada to see more than 300 of his friends in person.

He got the idea by talking with some friends who work for Canadian Tire. After graduating college, he got the idea for a cool summer trip. Several of his friends from college are scattered all over Canada, so he figured, why not pay them a trip?

Luckily, Canadian Tire hooked him up with everything he’d need for the trek — a 60-second tent, a sleeping bag, a barbecue, a GPS unit, and more.

He started his trip July 11 and is still working his way across Canada. He’s already seen more than 100 of his friends:

I have never been anywhere west of Ontario, so it’s a great opportunity to connect with friends who live in different places and see local type attractions.
