As I mentioned when I was rolling out the new AllFacebook design a week or two ago, I’ve been upgrading the statistics tools on this site after crashing some of our servers. Over the past few weeks I’ve been upgrading the database and reprogramming some of the tools so that they’re more efficiently structured. Today we’re pushing out the upgraded versions of the app tracker and page tracker which has been down for the past few weeks. You’ll notice that it looks just like before except that it’s integrated into the new layout.

I’m happy to say that today is the two year anniversary of the launch of AllFacebook. What started as a mission of building a popular site has turned into a full blown obsession for me. We’ve been tracking new applications, new features, and theorizing about future features to be added to the site. The site had around 20 million users when we first started and has now grown to over 325 million users. This site now has over 2,078 articles, 284 of which have been posted by other people (Anthony LaFauce, Kristen Nicole, Will M, and many others), 1,794 of which have been posted by me.

I’m happy to announce the launch of a new design and new stage for AllFacebook. Over the past two years I have been building up this site to become the leading resource for everything pertaining to Facebook. For the most part this site has experienced tremendous growth but it has not come without challenges. Over the past month or so you probably noticed some issues with our statistics applications as well as other features on this site.

Yes, I called it a “Public Profile” because Facebook is changing the name of branded profiles from “Pages” to “Public Profiles”. I just put a small amount of content via the AllFacebook public profile and will begin posting information much more regularly. The new Public Profiles present brands with a massive opportunity and I’d like to take advantage of that with this blog.

So what will we be posting on the new page? I’ll be posting status updates with quick tips, links to our blog posts, video tutorials, links to events, and many other things. Join our public profile and stay up to date about everything that’s taking place in Facebook land. If you are on Twitter, you may want to check out Facebook’s public profiles because you now have the opportunity to reach many more people through this new channel.

If you are one of the almost 2,000 people that have joined the AllFacebook community via our community widget on the right hand side of this site, there’s no doubt you’ve been noticing some issues in the past 24 hours. Our Facebook Connect implementation has gone crazy even though we didn’t change anything. I’ve pinged Facebook to see what’s going on but I’ve yet to hear anything back.

Want to know what the most popular Facebook pages are on any given day? Now you can! If you haven’t read it on Techcrunch, over the past month we have been tracking over 620,000 Facebook fan pages daily to determine how many fans they have and what type of growth they are experiencing. This is to improve our ability to track what’s popular on Facebook. While we’d like to provide more data about each of these fan pages, tracking the total number of fans is all we are providing for the time being (and for the foreseeable future).

A couple months ago I launched the Facebook application statistics tracker which lets you view the monthly active users of pretty much any application on Facebook. Over the past few weeks, the numbers have begun to display errors and there were a few problems. I went ahead and fixed the problems but also upgraded the application statistics tool all together.

Some users have been sending me e-mails about errors in the application tracker. I just wanted to let you know that I’m well aware of the issues and have been working on a resolution. Additionally, I’ve been building substantial upgrades which has led me to wait a few days before rolling out a solution. I have also built a few new products that we’ll be rolling out in the coming weeks.

Are you trying to keep track of all the latest sites to integrate with Facebook Connect? I know I am. That’s why last night I programmed the Facebook connect directory. While Facebook already displays websites in the Facebook application directory, there isn’t a way to view just sites that have implemented Connect, especially mainstream sites and applications.
