Want To Change Your Facebook Page Name? You May Soon Be Able To

Facebook is currently testing a new Page administration area which among other things, includes the ability to change a Facebook Page’s name. This is something that a large number of administrators have been asking for, and now Facebook may finally allow it.

The feature which was first pointed out by Inside Facebook, is accessible to a small subset of Page administrators who can edit the name under the “Basic Information” tab. Previously, Facebook was hesitant to provide this feature, most likely because they wanted to avoid having organizations build large generic pages and then switching the page topic at the last minute.

Not all Pages have access to this information though. Currently it appears to be limited to those pages with few fans, most likely due to the reason just described. While there are a few other improvements in the new layout, the most significant change is that some pages will be able change their name, something that many people have contacted us in the past about. Do you see a need for changing your Facebook page name?
