Facebook Allows Users To Create Repeat Events, Auto-Fills Details

Facebook introduced a feature to make the creation of events easier if the details are similar to those of previously created events, as Software Engineer Bob Baldwin announced the rollout of “create repeat event” on his timeline.

Baldwin wrote:

I built a new feature for events. You can now go to any past event you hosted or attended, and create a repeat event. It’ll copy the details into a new event (which you can preview and edit before posting) and invite your friends from the past event.

As sister blog Inside Facebook pointed out, page administrators who host several similar events can now adjust only the appropriate fields, rather than starting from scratch with each event.

Users can also create repeat events for any of their friends’ events that they attended, but the feature is not available for events originated by pages that they are not the administrators of, according to Inside Facebook. Also, in the case of the former, the guest lists are not duplicated, and users can only invite their friends.

However, Inside Facebook pointed out that there is still no way to create repeating events on the social network, such as events occurring on the same day every week.

Readers: Will create repeat event be a useful feature for you?
