While most Facebook users are just beginning to get used to the new profile design, one clever Facebook user has come up with an extremely creative use of the new profile layout.
One of the readers of our blog, Dan Pellegrino, posted a few images on his blog which were designed to take advantage of the new layout. This immediately reminded me of the profile photo hacks first posted here by Rob Banagale almost two years ago. It presents users with a significant opportunity to customize their Facebook profile beyond the original customization model, of changing a single profile image.
After this post is shared I have no doubt that we’ll see thousands of Facebook users jump on the idea and go and create their Facebook profile themselves. While I’m not sure whether or not Facebook will roll out a similar design to Facebook Pages, I can imagine a lot of creative brands taking advantage of such forms of customization. Below are a few of the creative designs that Dan Pellegrino came up with, but I’m sure there are infinite possibilities. Post links to your profile in the comments once you’ve created custom images.
If you are wondering how to accomplish this, you’ll need to tag yourself in the images that you want included in your profile beginning with the right-most image and moving to the left.
