Now Available: D-Link 802.11ac Router With Integrated Facebook Wi-Fi

AC1750650Networking solutions provider D-Link teamed up with Facebook on the D-Link 802.11ac Router with integrated Facebook Wi-Fi, with the aim of allowing small and midsized businesses to offer free Wi-Fi to Facebook users who check in at their locations.

The routers allow Facebook users to check in and connect without having to enter security codes or create new accounts, while enabling businesses to interact directly with those users. D-Link said businesses using Facebook Wi-Fi routers saw three times more check-ins than those not offering the service in previous tests.

According to D-Link, D-Link 802.11ac Routers with integrated Facebook Wi-Fi feature:

  • The ability for businesses to aggregate demographic data from users who check in via the service.
  • Speeds of up to 1,750 megabits per second with 802.11ac.
  • A complete set of features to protect business networks, including an SPI (stateful packet inspection) firewall and WPA2 encryption.

The routers are available for $149.99 via D-Link.
