Yesterday a new wave of phishing scams spread throughout Facebook and today, those scams continue to spread. So far today I’ve received at least two separate scam emails. The first which was sent out was bestspace.be at 7:00 am this morning but by the time I checked it out, the site had already been blocked. Then a few minutes ago I received an email suggesting that I visit whitemart.be which has still not been shut down.

Farmtown Overtakes Pet Society As Most Popular Facebook Game

Farmtown has been on a tear recently and as of today, the game has overtaken Pet Society as the largest application on the Facebook platform based on daily active users. The game doesn’t appear to be slowing down either. That’s probably because the game is as addictive as crack. Just one week ago I wrote about the game’s explosive growth over the past month and since I wrote about it, I can’t stop playing.

Words Of Wisdom For Twitter: Integrate Facebook Connect

John Battelle is one smart cookie. In a post this morning, John suggests that Twitter leverage Facebook Connect in order to prevent people from never coming back. For many applications this means another distribution channel for reaching users and encouraging them to return to the application. Some developers had already been promoting existing public profiles for their applications which resulted in millions of fans.

Facebook Surpasses 225 Million Users

Facebook continues to go on a tear and according to our own statistics compiled with data provided by Facebook during interviews a couple months ago, we now estimate Facebook’s total active user base to have surpassed 225 million. The company actually should have surpassed 225 million a couple of weeks ago but we’ve accounted for the possibility of a slight slow down in growth, although the company continues to attract millions of new users weekly.
