Football Player Asks Facebook Fans For Touchdown Celebration Ideas

Even professional athletes are getting into the act of crowdsourcing via Facebook. DeAngelo Williams, a running back for the National Football League’s Carolina Panthers, recently asked his Facebook fans to suggest a dance to do when he scores a touchdown during the preseason.

Williams, who is entering his sixth year in the NFL, posted a video to his Facebook page, asking fans to suggest a touchdown celebration. He said:

I want to get you guys involved in the game, so this is what I’m going to do: I’m going to give you an opportunity … I want you to comment and post a link of you doing your best touchdown celebration. The best one, if I score on Saturday or throughout this preseason from week to week, I’ll do your end-zone celebration.

Immediately, fans started commenting with ideas. Many of them did a touchdown dance, recorded it, uploaded it to YouTube, and then posted a comment. As of Wednesday afternoon, there were 177 comments, 239 likes, and 37 shares.

Williams has nearly 80,000 subscribers on Facebook and stays fairly active. He posts photos from his day-to-day life, as well as video blogs, giving his fans the inside scoop on what it’s really like to be a pro football player.
