How To Team Up With Your Facebook Friends To Purchase Gift Cards

eGifterMortonsRestaurant group Landry’s — parent company of chains including Claim Jumper, McCormick & Schmick, Morton’s, Rainforest Café, and Saltgrass — teamed up with Facebook gifting application eGifter to add the ability for groups of Facebook friends to contribute to gift cards.

The group gifting option is currently live on the Facebook pages and websites of Morton’s and Claim Jumper, and potential occasions for its use include employees teaming up to purchase gifts for their bosses, or friends providing new parents with a night out.

eGifter CEO Tyler Roye told AllFacebook in an email:

We are excited to be working with Landry’s to bring them this innovative solution. The consumer demand for group gifting is growing rapidly, and Landry’s is now positioned to see the benefit this holiday season.

Landry’s Director of Gift Card Sales and Marketing Len Sadek added in an email to AllFacebook:

A Landry’s gift card truly offers something for everyone. It’s the all-purpose pass to legendary dining, exciting retail options, unmatched amusements, renowned gaming, and award-winning hospitality venues. Now, Claim Jumper, McCormick & Schmick, Morton’s, Rainforest Café, and Saltgrass will allow guests to purchase an eGift card online and invite friends to contribute via email or Facebook. The eGift cards can then be personalized with a photo or video.
