REPORT: Facebook To Nearly Triple Share Of Global Mobile Ad Market in 2013; Google Still Dominant

Facebook’s share of the worldwide mobile ad market is expected to nearly triple in 2013, reaching 15.8 percent, after coming in at 5.35 percent in 2012, according to the latest projections from market research outfit eMarketer.

The previous estimate by eMarketer for Facebook was 12.9 percent for 2013, and the social network still trails Google by a hefty margin, as eMarketer pegged Google for a 53.17 percent share for 2013.

In terms of overall digital ad revenue, the results were similar, with Google far outpacing its competitors with a 32.84 percent projection for 2013, but Facebook rising quickly to claim second place at 5.41 percent.

And eMarketer’s 2013 projections for net digital revenue see Google at $38.62 billion, with Facebook again at No. 2, at $6.36 billion, up from $4.28 billion in 2012.
