2014FIFAWorldCupBrasil650Just do it? Nike has when it comes to mentions of 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil sponsors on Facebook and Twitter since the start of the tournament June 12, according to data from social marketing and analytics platform Engagor.

Engagor said there have been a total of 1.4 million mentions of World Cup sponsors on Facebook and Twitter since June 12, and Nike led the field, with 357,000. Here is the complete list:

  1. Nike, 357,000
  2. Coca-Cola, 297,000
  3. Emirates, 169,000
  4. Kia Motors, 156,000
  5. Volkswagen, 122,000
  6. Adidas, 89,000
  7. Hyundai, 56,000
  8. Sony, 44,000
  9. Budweiser, 43,000
  10. MillerCoors, 39,000
  11. Pepsi, 32,000
  12. Visa, 13,000
  13. Continental, 6,000

Engagor also said:

  • Pepsi led in terms of positive sentiment, at 58 percent of mentions, while the highest volume of negative mentions, 16 percent, went to Volkswagen.
  • The top languages were English, Arabic, Spanish, Italian, and Japanese.
  • The gender split was male 72 percent, female 28 percent globally, narrowing to 60 percent and 40 percent, respectively, in the U.S.
