Respondents To Facebook Event Sponsored Stories Asked Whether They Consent To Use As Social Context For Ads

Facebook has begun allowing users who respond to sponsored stories promoting events to determine whether their event responses can be used in ads.

Blink Vice President of Planning and Media Eti Suruzon shared the screenshot below, in which the following options were presented after responding to an event sponsored story:

  • Let (name of event) show me as social context for ads.
  • Do not let (name of event) show me as social context for ads.

A “save” button also appears, presumably allowing users to save their choice as their default actions for similar instances.

Readers: Have you seen this option yet?
