Eventblimp Takes Flight With 20M+ Events From Facebook, Other Sources; IOS App

EventblimpLogo650Looking for an event to attend? Boulder, Colo.-based startup Eventblimp has more than 20 million of them aggregated in its hangar, from Facebook, Meetup, Eventbrite, Bandsintown, SeatGeek, and Eventful, accessible via the Web or its new iOS application.

For those looking to attend events, Eventblimp offers searching by location, category, date, time of day, and cost, as well as the ability to easily share events via Facebook, Twitter, and Google Plus.

And for those hosting events, Eventblimp allows them to spread the word with just a few clicks and reach a large potential audience.

In addition to the launch of its iOS app, Eventblimp announced that it has received angel funding from Grey Mountain Partners, where its founder and CEO, Chris Good, previously worked as an investment professional.

And the company announced the hiring of Weston Platter as its chief technology officer and the naming of Tayal Ventures International Founder and CEO Naren Tayal as an advisor.

Good said in a release announcing all of Eventblimp’s news:

The event market is extremely large, and the event sites providing information are siloed, causing event goers to parse multiple sites. We want Eventblimp to be the one and only source people need to find everything going on around them with ease. We have more events than any other source, and we aggregate them into a beautiful map for the best user experience possible. And not only are the website and app easy to use, but there are various benefits for event goers and promoters.

Tayal added:

Location awareness is such an important part of our lives, especially when you want to intersect with and build your network. Eventblimp is an indispensable app that shows you new events and opportunities, as well as your friends’ events. Once you’ve tried it, you’ll be hooked and rely on it daily to learn more about everything going on around you now and in the future.
