Exai Website Creator Turns Facebook Pages Into Websites, Mobile Sites

Wouldn’t it be great if you could convert your Facebook page into a fully functional website and mobile site? Now you can, using Exai Website Creator, a new Facebook application from Tel Aviv, Israel-based website-creation-tool provider Exai, which launched Tuesday.

The free app allows the 60 million or so brands that currently have Facebook pages but no websites or mobile sites to remedy that issue quickly and easily, with the ability to customize the new sites via a true WYSIWYG (what you see is what you get), drag-and-drop interface that allows page administrators to create different sections and choose photos, videos, and other content.

Use of Exai Website Creator is free, and Exai will provide page administrators with premium services and features for their new sites at a nominal cost.

The company has raised more than $15 million in total funding, including a recently closed private placement of $3 million, and some of those funds went into the creation of the app. CEO Gal Moran said:

We see an incredible opportunity to disrupt a huge market. Until today, website creation had been dominated by solutions that focus on simplistic and basic websites. However, these solutions don’t effectively address the question of building an effective presence across multiple platforms. We believe that Facebook — with 1 billion users and growing — represents a natural starting point and the easiest way to build an effective presence on the Web. That’s why we have built a solution that uses your Facebook page content as the basis for your website.
