Facebook announced plans today to mark the 10th anniversary of 9/11 on the social networking site.

The tribute will feature readings from Colin Powell, Condoleezza Rice, Madeleine Albright and artists Denyce Graves, Emmylou Harris, Melissa Leo and Wynton Marsalis; ABC News’ Christiane Armanpour hosts.

Tune in at 7:30 p.m. Eastern Standard Time by clicking the “9/11 Livestream” tab on the Facebook pages of the Kennedy Center or The New Republic.

Also today: Facebook debuts an application paying tribute to the nearly 3,000 people killed that day; Involver software powers this application made in partnership with the National September 11 Memorial and Museum.

The app lets people share memories and reflections from September 11, 2001, and create status updates or profile images commemorating the event.
