Want to spruce up your Facebook profile and be the envy of all your friends? Here are seven tools that are guaranteed to take your profile to the next level.
To be perfectly honest, the difference between one tool and the next is practically unnoticeable, with most providing an identical offering: A library of profile banners to go at the top of your profile and a tool to create your own custom profile banner.
For those who used to have a MySpace profile, many of you will recognize these services as they’re similar to MySpace profile layouts. While selecting one from the other is probably as easy as picking a name that you like, we figured we’d list as many of them out for you as possible.
Profile Banner

This is pretty much the standard tool to make yourself a profile banner. With more than 4 million monthly active users, it has grown like crazy since we first covered it back in December. If you haven’t customized your Facebook profile yet, the profile banner application is a great tool to help you do just that. You can go install the application here.
Free Banners

This site is extremely easy to use. The free banners app, which has been used by more than 1.7 million users in the past month, is just as useful as the previous one. The only difference is that the domain they chose really isn’t that great: http://www.fbannersusers.com/ Aside from that, if you are going to pick a tool to customize your profile, this one is cool.
myFBBanners

myFBBanners, found here, is an extremely useful tool, aside from the fact that it’s just like the others. They have a great library of banners and enable you to make your own custom profile banner as well. If for some reason the previous applications listed don’t work for you, I highly recommend checking this site out.
Blingify

Blingify is a relic of the MySpace layout days. They have a categorized listing of practically every type of profile banner you could possibly want. From animals, to music, to flowers, and more. With a great name, and a functional application, Blingify is definitely a great solution for customizing your Facebook profile.
Bannerizer

Aside from the clever name, Bannerizer really doesn’t offer anything that unique. As I said before though, if there’s anything that guides you in making a decision for which Facebook banner tool you pick, the name might as well be it. If you didn’t like any of the previous ones listed, go check out Bannerizer!
Pure Silva Banner Maker

Pure Siva has nothing really unique about their site aside from the fact that it doesn’t really look that nice. Also it appears as though the banners just show up as solid images rather than being split into the various images that they need to be in order to be displayed on your Facebook profile. As such, I’d probably stick with one of the earlier products listed. However if you like the name Pure Silva (which I have no idea how it’s related to Facebook banners), you can go check out their site.
Facebook Banner

The Facebook Banner site (found here) happens to actually be a little bit different from the rest. This site has created a blog that describes how best to use a tool that that’s priced $27. Here’s a tip though: don’t pay for it. All of the other tools that we’ve listed do everything that these people are charging for — however, this one justifies the price as covering the cost of customization options. So if you want that, then go ahead and cough up the cash.
