Facebook Continues To Dominate The World

While Facebook’s growth may have slowed (and even decreased domestically), an updated version of the global social network landscape illustrates that Facebook continues to surge in popularity.

The latest update may not be as dramatic as previous ones which showed Facebook conquering the world, however Facebook now has only a few key countries remaining. Japan, China, Korea, and Russia, continue to be primary focuses for Facebook.

Chief Executive Mark Zuckerberg has continued the dialogue with Chinese incumbents in an effort to reach the country. One of the other significant revelations in the latest social network world map update was that Twitter has quickly become the second largest social networks in many key countries.

Growth has become more challenging for Facebook. As Eric Eldon wrote yesterday, Facebook’s self-reported statistics for Canada and U.S. shows dramatic drops in usage over the past couple months. For the time being, Facebook continues to experience global growth, but it will be interesting to see how this map changes over the next few months.
