Facebook developer SNAP Interactive, best known for the Are You Interested dating application, posted its tenth consecutive quarter of revenue growth, although the third quarter of 2011 also brought a net loss to the company.
The parent of Are You Interested said i third-quarter revenue exceeding $5 million represented a 198 percent leap from $1.7 million in the third quarter of 2010.
SNAP posted a net loss of $511,290 versus net income of $87,289 in the year-earlier period.
The company’s third-quarter highlights included:
- The addition of more than 3.3 million new Are You Interested profiles;
- More than 675,000 downloads for the Are You Interested iPhone app, up 80 percent from the previous quarter; and
- The launch of Android and mobile web versions of AreYouInterested.com.
The company said its primary sources of revenue are subscription sales for Are You Interested on Facebook, its website, and its iPhone and mobile sites.
