The new Toyota Prius V may not be very large as vehicles go, but that doesn’t mean it can’t hold a lot of holiday gifts. The car company and Toys for Tots are enlisting the help of Facebook fans and Twitter followers to find out just how many.
Facebook users who click the “More Prius. More Giving” tab on the Toyota Prius page can select one of five toys for the automaker to donate, free of charge.
The toys will then be loaded into Prius V cars, with the goal of filling as many vehicles as possible for Toys for Tots by December 23. Toyota said it is aiming for $100,000 worth of new toys.
Users can also share news of their participation via Facebook and Twitter (hashtag #moreprius for the latter), and a widget for inclusion on websites and blogs is available.
How does this particular promotion stack up against other brands’ efforts to use charity in marketing this holiday season, readers?
