I just discovered Friendsheet by virtue of subscribing to Facebook Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg’s public posts.
He liked the application, and I followed his tracks there — as did many of his subscribers, causing a spike in traffic to the application around 2 pm Pacific Time.
There, we discovered something that looks like the Pinterest news feed, with Facebook’s color scheme.
Friendsheet applies Pinterest’s interface to Facebook photos.
The application lets you upload images to Facebook using the same technique as pinning, and your uploads are visible to your friends — according to your privacy settings — regardless of whether or not they’re using FriendSheet.
The Friendsheet application was created by Zachary Alia in January.
The advantage Friendsheet has over Pinterest is simply a closer connection to Facebook; while you can use Pinterest without being logged into Facebook, you can’t use Friendsheet that way.
Being tied more closely to Facebook leverages the greater network effect that Facebook has compared to other social media outlets.
Have you checked out Friendsheet, and if so, how does it compare to Facebook and Pinterest?
