Facebook Gains Control Of FacebookOfSex.com URL

Facebook seized control of another URL with a name close to its own, but this one was a little more on the randy side.

Fusible reported that according to Whois, Facebook now owns the rights to domain name FacebookOfSex.com, one year after filing a trademark lawsuit (see below) against FriendFinder Networks over the URL.

In the suit, Facebook had sought control over several domain names, as well as $100,000 in damages for each one.

Fusible cited statistics from Compete in saying that FacebookOfSex.com had totaled more than four million visitors before being taken down.
