It’s 5 o’clock somewhere: Who’s ready for a drink? Want some company but don’t know which bar or restaurant you want to go to yet? Then check out Happy Hour Finder. The Facebook adaptation of the Happy Hour Finder iPhone app enables users to locate and share happy hour events with their friends, either by wall post or message.
The app boasts a database with tens of thousands of happy hour events from across the country, complete with details on the specials being offered and the addresses of the establishments.
Users can select from any of the seven days of the week (Sunday Funday, anyone?) and browse the offerings.
The only sobering aspect of Happy Hour Finder: Individual users cannot add events, but only bars and restaurants can.
And those establishments have three payment options:
- Free: Happy hour events are listed in Happy Hour Finder, with basic details and a small map pin.
- Monthly: For $49 per month, establishments receive everything in the free plan, as well as the ability to offer special deals, premium listings, larger map pins (triple the size of the free ones), larger details bubbles, three extra lines of marketing text, and priority email support.
- Annual: The same features as the monthly plan, but at $490 per year, bars and restaurants only pay for 10 of the 12 months.
This app seems cool for its specific focus on happy hours, but sites like Yelp already have that covered. Plus, Facebook’s own events feature is free of charge for watering holes and indviduals, and popular with both.
Readers, do you think there’s room in the market for an app like Happy Hour Finder?
