Facebook COO Leaves Starbucks Board, Hearsay CEO Joins

Facebook marketing platform Hearsay Social announced several milestones and the addition of its Chief Executive Officer Clara Shih to the board of directors of Starbucks.

Shih, 29, will serve on the nominating and corporate governance committees for the coffee giant. The opportunity arose after Facebook chief operating officer Sheryl Sandberg said she would not seek re-election to the Starbucks board at its 2012 annual meeting.

As for the Hearsay Social enterprise social media and customer-relationship-management platform, the company said it:

  • Powers more than 16,000 social pages and profiles, handling more than five million customer interactions.
  • Multiplied its customer base sixfold over the past six months, adding clients in the retail, insurance, financial services, hospitality, medical, automotive, and real estate sectors.
  • Is now integrated with Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Google Plus.

Finally, Hearsay Social announced the additions of former Fortify Software executive Rob van Es as vice president of global sales, and former Netscape and MarketTools executive Amy Millard as vice president of marketing.
