Facebook Joins Fortune 500

Facebook is in some great company right now, with Amazon, eBay, and Yahoo, on the Fortune 500 list. Fortune announced that the social network cracked the prestigious list for the first time, coming in at No. 482 — 12 spots ahead of Yahoo.

Last year, Facebook was ranked No. 598, but it has risen enough to claim a spot on the Fortune 500.

Facebook ranks sixth in the seven-company category of Internet services and retailing, joining Amazon (No. 49), Google (55), eBay (196), Liberty Interactive (270), Priceline (473), and Yahoo (494). According to Fortune, Facebook Co-Founder Mark Zuckerberg, 28, is the youngest CEO on the current Fortune 500 list. He’s one of only two CEOs regarded by Fortune under 40, with Yahoo’s Marissa Mayer being 37.

Walmart topped the Fortune 500.
