Representative Gabrielle Giffords posted an audio message on her Facebook page today, telling constituents that she “misses home,” and she’s “getting better.”
The audio message was posted on Giffords’ official government Facebook page this afternoon, and we’ve got a copy of it below.
Her words to the public comes on the heels of an exclusive interview she and her husband, Mark Kelly, gave to the ABC News program “20/20″ last night.
Congresswoman Giffords was shot in the head in January at a constituent event outside a Tucson, Arizona shopping center.
This isn’t the first time the Congresswoman’s staff has turned to Facebook to share exclusive information about her progress. In June, Giffords’ office posted a photo of the Tucson native on her Facebook page — the first time the public had seen an official photo since the shooting.
In a testament to the outpouring of support the Congresswoman has received from around the world, and to her staff’s effectiveness at using social media, Rep. Giffords’ office placed third in the Democrats’ new media competition in the House of Representatives. Winners were ranked based on the number of new followers and subscribers generated across all the major social media channels, including Facebook.
