Facebook announced offers last month as a replacement for check-in deals, but despite the big splash, thus far, only larger, premium advertisers are being allowed into the pool.
A spokesperson for the social network told our sister blog Inside Facebook:
We are slowly rolling offers out over the course of the coming weeks, but eventually, any business with a page will be able to run an offer.
Offers are a self-serve alternative to check-in deals, whereby page administrators can post them on pages without requiring approval from Facebook; users can redeem them by clicking on linked words to receive them via email.
Readers: Do you think the delayed rollout of offers is a case of favoring larger advertisers?
