Facebook Prompts Some Pages To Share Links

Facebook loves tweaking the status update boxes on users’ News Feeds in order to get them to share more, such as asking what they’re thankful for around Thanksgiving. Now it seems like status update boxes on page administrator screens are getting that treatment, too. Sister site Inside Facebook reported Wednesday that some pages are being prompted to share links back to their homepages.

Inside Facebook noted that a link back to its website automatically showed up without it posting anything in the box first. Fellow sister site Inside Social Games has also seen this, too:

As Inside Facebook notes, this could lead to more frustration: If someone wants to share something else besides a link back to their homepage, they have to click the X to negate the current link, and then start the posting process.

Readers: Have you seen this on your pages?
