What does a social media analytics company want with an RSS reader? We’re about to find out, as Socialbakers announced its acquisition of Social RSS.
Social RSS has 160,000 active monthly users, and the app allows users to add blogs and RSS feeds to their Facebook walls, under a boxes tab, or under a dedicated tab on their profile pages, all of which are updated automatically.
Socialbakers has been on a roll, adding Social RSS to its acquisition of CheckFacebook.com last month, and ensuring that the $2 million funding round it closed late last month, led by Earlybird Venture Capital, did not sit idle.
The company also Google Plus to Socialbakers’ analytics offerings that already cover Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Chief Executive Officer Jan Rezab said:
We are seeing unprecedented demand from companies for more sophisticated consumer behavior analyses that can be mined from Facebook pages, places, applications, the Facebook platform, Facebook advertising prices, all in real time. We have helped many of our European customers get far ahead of their competitors in many geographies. We have successfully captured the European markets, with the United Kingdom, Germany, Turkey, Poland, and Spain in the lead. Our recent acquisitions allow us to triple our reach, and we have aggressive plans to capture additional markets in the United States, Brazil, and other non-European countries.
