The Virgin Group rolled out a Facebook application powered by Facebook’s any-day-now timeline profile.
Virgin First Times allows users to select one of their friends, and then uses the social network’s timeline application-programming interface to unearth the first photo, event, comment, check-in, and liked page in common with that friend.
The results are displayed in graphic form, with the two friends’ first picture together as the centerpiece, and the graphic can be posted to the user’s photo album, with both friends tagged.
Mashable reported that Virgin First Times was designed by London-based Gamaroff Digital, adding that the app is just one part of a 26-hour social marathon being hosted by Virgin founder Sir Richard Branson.
According to Mashable, Virgin’s various social media teams from divisions including airline Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Wines will be at Facebook’s offices in Sydney, London, and Los Angeles, awarding hourly prizes to Facebook fans.
