How To Customize Facebook Timeline Thumbnail Images

Many timelines on pages still have somewhat outdated tabs, resulting in unattractive thumbnail icons in the applications area. Here are six easy steps to fix that, taking advantage of a simple but important branding opportunity.

Step 1: Click on the down arrow that appears to the right of all the thumbnail icons. This will reveal all your timeline tabs, which, by the way, Facebook now calls applications. This will also expose an edit pencil when you mouse over over any of the thumbnails except for the one designating photos.

Step 2: Move your mouse over to the upper right-hand corner, click on the pencil icon, and select “edit settings.”

Step 3: Click on “change” beside “custom tab image.”

Step 4: When a new window opens, click on “change” beside the current tab image.

Step 5: Upload a 111 pixel by 74 pixel image, at a maximum file size of five megabytes.

Step 6: Close the window, click okay and you’ll see your Facebook timeline tab image updated.

Repeat until all your Facebook timeline tab images are looking sharp.
