Facebook Consolidates Status Menu On Timeline

Facebook converted the status update area of timeline for pages to a one-stop shop where brands can post milestones, events, and questions from the same menu.

When page managers access the “What’s on your mind?” box for status updates, several changes appear. While the word “status” remains the same, the next label says “photo/video.” Previously, a single icon bore the label “photos” without clarifying that it also led to “photos.

The link to the right of “photo/video”  has more consolidation: a calendar icon is accompanied by the label “event, milestone +” and leads to a pulldown menu with milestones, events, and questions.

Tipster Kevin Evanetski, founder of Social Yeah, also pointed out that offers are included in that same pulldown menu but only fpr pages with that feature enabled.

In addition, this all-in-one menu link also appears at the top of the page, giving page managers easier access to the options.

Readers, do you see these new menu options on the pages you administer? What about on timeline profiles?
