If you search “Egypt” on Facebook, there is an overwhelming stream of cheer and countless other emotions pouring through the feed, as people react to the events taking place in the country, primarily the celebrations in Tahir square.
To say the event is historic is an understatement. A revolution that originated with people coming together online and mobilizing a nation was Tweeted, Facebooked, blogged and more. All of it brought change swiftly to a country under dictatorial rule for 30 years.
While we don’t know what lies ahead, all we can do is watch a revolution unfold as it’s live streamed over the Internet. You can see a stream, without commentary, via CBC. Also, the AlJazeera stream is interesting as you can hear the emotion pouring through the voices of the people in Tahir square.
