Another web address with a name similar to Facebook has come under the social network’s control, as The Whois information for FaceSounds.com and FaceSounds.info now lists Facebook as the owner.
Fusible reported that at one time, FaceSounds.com offered a free search toolbar that gave Facebook users the option of changing their chat sounds within the social network.
However, FaceSounds.com was accused of spamming users’ friends, and apparently it shut down.
Neither of the addresses including the word FaceSounds leads to a live website.
Interestingly, Facebook still blocks posts containing the FaceSounds URLs — we couldn’t even post links to this article on the social network.
