Mark Zuckerberg-Led FWD.us Adds Steve Chen, Barry Diller

FWD.us, the political advocacy group led by Facebook Co-Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg, announced two high-profile additions: YouTube Co-Founder and former Chief Technology Officer Steve Chen, and InterActiveCorp Chairman Barry Diller.

The additions of Chen and Diller will help to offset two significant departures from FWD.us last month: Space Exploration Technologies CEO and Tesla Motors Co-Founder Elon Musk, and Yammer Co-Founder and CEO David Sacks.

Joe Green, Zuckerberg’s roommate at Harvard University, who has been involved with FWD.us since its inception, said in a blog post:

We’re thrilled to announce that Steve Chen and Barry Diller are joining FWD.us to help pass comprehensive immigration reform and move the knowledge economy forward. They’re the latest to join our diverse group of leading innovators, job creators, and business owners from the tech sector dedicated to helping fix our broken immigration system so it works for American families and the American economy.

Chen added:

As someone who immigrated from Taiwan to the U.S. at a very young age, I know firsthand how welcoming and supportive our country is to those of us coming here to make a better life. My story could only happen here. As both an immigrant and a proud member of the tech community, I’m proud to join FWD.us as a funder and supporter. I’ve seen firsthand the impact both of those communities can have on our economy and our country’s ability to lead the world in innovation, and I am pleased to join the group as we work to pass comprehensive immigration reform.
