How Facebook Targeted Gmail’s Primary Tab

GmailTabsFacebook is looking to carve its niche in the new tabbed design introduced by Gmail, as the social network is urging users of both services to move their Facebook emails into their primary tabs in Gmail.

Sociobits reported on the initiative by Facebook and shared the screenshots above and below, in which Facebook is trying to coerce users to shift its email from Gmail’s social tab to its primary tab.

Some Facebook users are seeing a module with the headline, “Don’t Miss Facebook Notifications in Gmail,” which reads:

Emails from Facebook now go to your social tab, where you might not see them. Drag emails from your social tab to your primary tab to make sure you never miss an update.
