Green Day Jams With Angry Birds For Facebook Game

One of Facebook’s most popular games has joined forces with one of the site’s most popular bands. Rovio announced Monday that a new level of the game Angry Birds will feature members of Green Day as pigs. The partnership is a promotion effort for the band’s newest CD, as players can download Green Day’s newest single, “Oh Love.”

The episode features 10 new themed levels, with bad pig characters inspired by Green Day members Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tre Cool. Players can also access special content, such as new songs from the band.

Armstrong gave praise to the game in the Rovio blog entry:

We’re all fans of Angry Birds. It’s such an addictive game that when we first started playing it, we couldn’t stop. Go Team Green!
