WARNING: Contrary To Hoax Spreading On Facebook, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson Is Not Dead

TheRockIsDeadHoax650Actor and former wrestler Dwayne Johnson, otherwise known as “The Rock,” is alive and well, but Facebook users who clicked on links reporting his demise may not be able to say the same about their devices.

Malwarebytes Labs reported on a hoax making its way around Facebook, in which users are baited with videos allegedly showing Johnson’s death while filming Fast and Furious 7.

Users who fall victim to the scam are directed to a link which ends up installing unwanted software program PUP.Optional.Bandoo on their devices, according to Malwarebytes Labs, which also provided the screenshot above.
