Hulu CEO Jason Kilar Might See Himself At Facebook Soon

It seems like every week, Facebook Co-Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg is acquiring a new company or making a key hire. The New York Post reports that his next target might be Hulu CEO Jason Kilar, who recently spurned Yahoo.

Sources told Post reporter Claire Atkinson that Zuckerberg wants to give Kilar a top executive job within Facebook. She says Facebook could become a destination site where people not only talk about their favorite movies and TV shows, but view them on the site, as well. The story also notes that Facebook might be interested in purchasing a stake of Vevo, a popular music hub on YouTube.

However, spokespeople from Facebook and Hulu declined to comment on the matter.

Interestingly enough, Kilar recently declined Yahoo’s request to bring him on as CEO.

Atkinson explained how Kilar could improve Facebook’s multimedia offerings:

Facebook clearly harbors content ambitions and could become a destination where people consume, as well as talk about, movies, music, and TV shows.

The social network is also eager to prove its worth to Madison Avenue and is looking to attract online video advertising. Few know better than Kilar what’s involved.

As a pioneer in Internet TV, Kilar has faced a hard balancing act between delivering a good user experience and dealing with pressure from Hulu’s media owners to ramp up the money machine.
