The summer movie season is in full swing, and social media software company Expion examined the Facebook marketing strategies of eight of this year’s biggest blockbusters between May 1 and June 24.

Expion’s findings included:

  • Iron Man 3 topped the list with more than 3.2 million fan actions (likes. comments, and shares), using a strategy of focusing on witty one-liners by main character Tony Stark.
  • Hangover III followed a similar path to second place, putting Zack Galifinakis’ character, Alan, on 44 percent of its posts.
  • In a study of opposites, World War Z had the single most successful post on the list, but it was also responsible for the bottom 13, and it finished last on Expion’s list, with just 663,500 fan actions.
  • The most successful days of the week for posts about summer movies are Thursdays and Fridays.
