Social media analytics company Socialbakers offered its take on adjustments that should be made to Facebook’s current formula for engagement rate.

The social network currently uses total engagement (likes plus comments plus shares), divided by number of fans, times 100.

The suggestion from Socialbakers: (likes, comments, and shares on a given day) x (page’s number of wall posts on a given day) divided by (total fans on a given day) x 100.
