Instagram Removes Automatic Sharing Of Likes, Activity To Facebook In IOS App Update

InstagramiOS5011650The new release of Instagram for iOS, 5.0.11, bucked the usual trend by Facebook-owned applications and apps in general that connect with the social network.

Under the What’s New section on the app’s iTunes App Store page, the only entry is:

With most app developers striving to tightly intertwine their apps with Facebook, it was surprising to see an app owned by the social network taking a step back.

One theory was that Facebook users were seeing too many posts in their News Feed on Instagram users’ activities.
