Facebook Updates IOS App: Events Quicker; Photos Easier To Save, Share, Report

Facebook rolled out an update for its iOS application Monday, mainly featuring quicker loading times for events and the ability for users to save photos from the social network onto their devices.

Sister blog Inside Facebook reported that events was one of the features that had not yet been rebuilt for speed, and both the main events page and individual events are loading noticeably quicker.

As for photos, when viewing them in full-screen mode, an ellipsis icon offers options to save the photos, share them, or report them. Inside Facebook pointed out that users previously had to perform screen captures to save photos, and they were required to exit full-screen mode before sharing or reporting them.

Inside Facebook also pointed out that Facebook appears to be pushing group messaging, as version 6.1.1 features a new group message composer, along with a group chats list in its chat menu.
