The voice-messaging feature that was added to the Facebook Messenger applications for iOS and Android is now part of the flagship Facebook app for iOS following an update Monday, along with the ability to record voice and video directly within the app, and an improved version of the nearby tab.
Users sending messages to other users within the iOS app will now have access to the cameras on their devices, enabling them to take still photos or shoot video clips, and then add them to messages.
And the nearby tab features a new interface that more closely resembles that of location-based mobile app Foursquare.
Sister blog Inside Facebook also reported that the updated iOS app simplifies the process of reporting posts as spam, with users now only required to tap the three-dot icon in the right-hand corner of posts to access the option.
