Facebook Director Of Engineering To Participate In White House Council On Women And Girls Panel

Facebook Director of Engineering Jocelyn Goldfein will participate in a White House Council on Women and Girls panel at the White House Tuesday featuring trailblazing women in STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) fields.

Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson will moderate the panel, to take place at 10:30 a.m. ET in the Brady Press Briefing Room, and Jackson and Goldfein will be joined by:

  • Dr. Cady Coleman, NASA astronaut and colonel, U.S. Air Force, retired
  • Dr. Jean Hernandez, president, Edmonds Community College
  • Bianca Bailey, president, Howard University chapter of Engineers Without Borders

“Girls in STEM,” a video featuring girls who participated in the 2012 White House Science Fair, will also debut at the event, which will be live-streamed via the White House Live application on Facebook.
